A chance to listen to the radio for a bit more than usual, in fact something I rarely have time for, yielded some good tunes, both old and new. Life continues to be about as busy as it can get. Thanksgiving and the holidays are around the corner. Some of these songs carry specific meaning to me, others caught my ear and seemed worth the listen and noting that I liked them.

(Flagpole Sitta of course contains the unforgettable and oh so appropriate lyric "... been around the world and found that only stupid people are breeding...")

Harlem - New Politics
Hurricane - Ms Mr
A Matter of Time - The Killers
Little Black Submarines - The Black Keys
Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
Misery Business - Paramore
Come Together - Sons of the Sea
I wanna be sedated - The Ramones
Is Your Love Big Enough - Lianne La Havas
Carry My Home - Hey Rosetta!
Open Season - High Highs

August 9, 2010

Well a lot of time has passed, and while I haven't had much to say in this space, music continues to be a profound influence in my life. I've listened to lots and lots, liked much of it and will list some of it here. Some music has been there during some low, depression filled times, and some has helped me get through it and keep going even when it would be easier not to. My suggestion would continue to be listen to as much music as you can, like what you like, and always see what else is out there.

This next week looks like it holds more challenges in trying to keep a good face forward. I'm sure music will be as important as ever. Anyways... here's the list.

Pink City - Secret Cities
SDP - The Kissaway Trail
The Cave - Mumford and Sons
Rill Rill - Sleigh Bells
Born Free - MIA
I get Nervous - Lower Dens
Coquette, Coquette - Of Montreal
New Goodbye - Hey Rosetta
And he slayed her - Liz Phair
