SXSW is here again. I always promise myself I'll find more time to listen, pay attention to the music. But then too many things are going on and there's no time. Finally listened to the NPR preview show and here are a few songs from there. I'll listen to the Austin 100 next, and I'm sure I'll find a bunch more...

It's been a crazy, busy year. Managed to do Firefly, for 2 days instead of all 4, and it passed without writing anything up. (Headliners were 21 Pilots and Muse. Best shows other than them were 30 Seconds to Mars, Judah and the Lion, and Missio) New Albums from Arcade Fire, The National, The Killers, St. Vincent, and a number more have meant a plethora of excellent listening that I have done alarmingly inconsistently. Long long time with little to no music. Work has been frantic, the rest of life has sped up rather than slowing down. But a regular thing for me to do in March is to listen to NPR's work up of 100 songs from SXSW artists. Thought I'd jot down a few that caught my ear. Maybe I'll find my way back to more regular listening!!

Music has been pretty scarce this spring. The rest of my life is trying to make me do more important and adult types of things. Then several weeks ago was the 2016 version of the Firefly Music Festival. (Hopefully I'll be able to write up my thoughts on what I saw there) That reiterated how important music is to me and so I've been listening to a bunch of new stuff since then. Here are a few songs that caught my ear. Weeks continue to fly by so this is turning into a catch-all over the Summer months. Maybe August will see more updates (Here's hoping)
